Single Player - nightmare

I am practising in single player, trying to improve and experiment with various options.

On Nightmare mode, the opposing team consistently outlevels me by war rank 3.   My team was level 4-5 and the other team was 7-9.. with just the odd death.. one larger match we were 9-10 and they were 17-20

What am I missing... how do I counter this ?

Thanks

Def

Nightmare ai get a boost to the amount of experience they earn and gain more gold, thats the reason they outlevel you.

The nightmare AI cheats and gets more gold and XP than you. There is a way to level up faster though, play alone against several nightmare AIs. Works great on Prison. I did this for the lulz once:

Once you get a hang of it it's quite easy to outplay the AI in every move. If you don't have AI teammates it's even easier. If you want to train for multiplayer, play against Sedna, Unclean Beast, Oak and Regulus. Put a Rook and Queen of Thorns on your team if you like a challenge. :)

Good luck, have fun!

To beat nightmare AI simply kill the wounded at your towers, the AI is pretty dumb still. If you play normally (farm etc...) you are eventually going to be out-leveled and out-itemed by the AI, and then no amount of AI stupidity is going to help you.

You can also try taking brillant bauble and buying the EXP citadel upgrade to outlevel the AI. (as long as you keep killing the wounded AI at your towers)

It's not really good practice because what works in nightmare does not help you against real plyaers in a fair game.

I have defeated tournament on Nightmare difficulty with Rook, Regulus, Unclean Beast, QoT and Erebus. Haven't bothered with Oak and Sedna yet as I forget to put the wards down with Oak and I'm not two timing QoT with Sedna.

The single most important element is grinding the enemy demigod's noses in it. While they are dead your AI teammates will slowly catch up. Rook is the exception as you can knock down citadel's at level 5 even on Nightmare setting.

Defenz... I'd gladly play a game with you to help you out.  I'm on xfire.  Grab an ID there and send me a friend request and we'll get a game going.  Once you've played a bit, the computer tends to be a joke (which is good, IMO).
