weather fetchers - problems

from Stardock Forums

All of a sudden, all weather fetchers [desktopX objects, widgets, etc.] are all displaying the same error message:

THIS DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE A VALID ZIP CODE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN.

What could be causing this and what could the solution be? My usual one is the K-TEK sidebar (K-DOCK) and so I tried many others to see if it was only my usual K-DOCK that had the problem and sure enough, all others I downloaded and tried show the same problem. I've never had this problem before... it only shows up now! I verified my firewall and anti-virus settings (nothing has changed there) and so I'm stumped.

it's sort of nice to know that I'm not alone... although, after reading those posts, at the risk of looking like a dumm-dumm, it's still not too clear to me what I can do...
