dhds75 the lurking terribad.

Stacking the deck.

dhds75 is a terrible demigod player, here's why.

He hosts games sets tower and creep to high and doesn't mention it. Then specs his Regulus with range/snipe, Heaven's Wrath, and hides behind towers the whole game. He only plays Cataract, so you're going to be in one of two creep lanes. If you venture in alone or at low hp, he'll Lightning your creep so you get pushed out of the lane by theirs.

Yes, this is smart play for those rulesets, but obviously, this is a case of the host doing his best to stack the game in his favor. Yes, anyone can look at the rules and see this is what's goin on, but this slips the mind of most new/average players until they're burned with something like this. That's who he preys on. He did this to me, and a friend, but we quickly figured out everything he was doing, and went on to get giants and backcap his portal and lock it, at which point he ragequit. Obviously, this man is just bad at the game, and needs to win to feel good about himself. He's not interested in just playing with high creep/tower because of the extra challenge, he just tries to surprise people with this tactic and let the creep do the work he can't.

How to win?

He's not a very good player he just has an advantage due to the fact he knows the rules and you don't.

-Invest in tower health and tower damage.

-Carry Universal Gadgets to help heal your towers.

-Buy priest/angles when you can.  While set on high these guys can get nasty, aslo priests are needed for pushing the high towers.

-Invest in creep health and creep damage.

-Stay away from his towers until you get some armor/HP.

-Make big pushes with your creep.

He's going to hide behind his towers or creep where ever you aren't.  He will avoid running into you at all costs.  So if you see him just run to him.  He'll turn tail and run back to his towers in hopes that you follow and the towers kill you.  Also he will throw out snipes whenever you're fighting another demigod/creep.  But for the most part he, himself is no threat to you.

So you felt the urge to come on the forum and flame somebody because they play with their own ruleset in custom games..? I know plenty of people who do this and it make it alot funner.

When told about it before hand.  He isn't doing a "fun" game.  He's doing this so he has the best possible chances at winning as he can.  There is a difference from playing a fun game with custom rules to joining what you think is a normal game of demigod just to find out that you've been shafted because someone failed to mention that rules were changed.  If he threw up High Tower/Creep in the game title I wouldn't have a problem with it.   I understand he isn't required to anounce any rule changes.  However that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't, is because he feeds on peoples ignorance to get an easy win.

That sounds exactly like the PUG vs premade issue to be honest...

I used to have issues with his raging but I've since made ammends with him. He's not a bad player and although setting rules to his favor is a bit shady, this is basically the tactics of 90% of decent Regulus players out there.

He once raged at the Sedna on his team for not healing him. When he got ganked 2v1 and Sedna was halfway across the map at the time. Hes alright with snipe though.

http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/search/player/dhds75 - see his rank and stats.

http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/741540/player/60858/ - see this game name.  Sounds like you two have a little war going.

I doubt this needed a post, but you did provide some ideas on how to counter his particular strategy.  Bane_solemon makes a good point that this does sound alot like the PUG v Premade issue (increasing your odds ftw).  If you are constantly finding yourself in games with adjusted rules and you feel it giving someone else the advantage, you can always host to avoid that.

The definition of "class" does not include publically ridiculing people for playing a video game in a way you dislike.  Check the settings before you play; leave his lobby if you don't like them.  No need to insult anyone or name names here.  A post reminding people to check the settings before any game and listing what to do in a game like that would accomplish the same thing as this in a much less hostile manner.

trust me, most of the chronically stupid people on this forum are far too easy to piss off, it isn't a achievement.

Actually, I have other info on dhds, which is evident in his profile, that is his Loss to disconnect ratio.  He currently has 105 losses, and 101 disconnects.  That's right, he almost never finishes a game unless he is obviously winning.

If at all possible do not play with this guy, since he will almost always be the first to drop.

That's alot of disconnects... 50.7% of all his games end in a disconnect.  1 in 2 chance he will drop from your game.  Could just be connection problems, but its pretty consistent.  Anyway... mayhaps this post can end now.

Thanks for polluting the forum with more personal diatribes about how you don't like some meanie-head who annoyed you! There is a thread called "hall of shame" for that type of thing.

Tool.
