Read this if youre just starting out on MP

New guys,

Different DG's and builds have different power bands.  They mature at varying speeds.  This dynamic will cause certain games to feel one sided at the beginning and will make you want to concede.  But never fear, you may not be gettin gdominated due to being outplayed, just due to this phenomena.  For example, if youre playing 2 oak vs 2 rook theyre going to rape your face till about lvl 7, but then youre going to take off like a bat out of hell.  The point of this blurb being that some games youre going to want to quit due to you thinking your partners are nub, the opposite teams dg is op or whatever.  Just stick around till at least lvl 8 and see please.

added : and while im on my soapbox, the biggest reason you lose is because you neglect the citadel.  Stop letting the good player buy all the cit upgrades because no one else pulls their weight.

Which one will?  I would think that rook would start to really get good at 7.

Lethstag... oak can be good from level 1 (read the 2 posts below)

http://forums.demigodthegame.com/357347

and

http://forums.demigodthegame.com/358172

though for a counter example to my point is that slam rook against minion erubs doesnt become completly dominating until level 7.

Oh and just a personal point, i took your advice and looked at your stats on the website... http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/player/37707/

it looks good, but i didnt feel silly as you said i would.

looking at my stats... http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/player/30309 made me think that you shouldnt think that you are the bee's knees of demigod.

Not trying to dick wave here, as i am far from the best, infact i know there are much better players than i, and try to learn from them as much as possible. My point, even if you can do something great there are generally alway other people that can do the same thing as good as or better than you. Anyway hope to play with you again.

ya oak is effective at lvl 1, but rook is more effective at level 1 is my point.  so is erubus.

and my point about the stats was to show i wasnt a nub.  my rank is low right now becaues i havent played for a few weeks. If it could show history youd see i was top 20 for a solid two months.    notice at one point i took number one in a pantheon.  this was in response to you teling me i needed 1 point in shield as a minion oak which i disagreed with.  this is how i respond to teammates who tell me i need to be a team player, and who repeatedly try to 2v1 a dg while im across the map.  good profile though youre a good player, and listening to your advice has caused me to try a new oak build.  that game we just had two super ego's bump into eachother. but yes your win to loss record pwns mine ill give you that, youre the better player.

@ obs - nice meeting you the other day mate you played a solid rook.  yes rook takes off at lvl 7 but at lvl 1 hes much more pwn than oak.  id say tower rook and erubus with bite are the two most power at lvl 1 in terms of pushing ability, followed closely by sedna.

oh gojky and i hope you dont think this post had anything to do with you.  ive tried lately to start the match out with divvying up the cit upgrades responsibilities and id say 80% of the time, the teammates arent willing to contribute which is maddening.  People dont realize that currency 1 is THE game winner.

Also im curious, lets put the question to the board.  Only oak players respond please.  As minion oak, vs ub spit and both your partners are stacking hp and regen to combat it, shoudl the oak get one point in shield for cleanse?

It was a solid game, not sure if you looked up the premade, but two of those three we beat had 90% win rates and were top 50.  That being said one of the three looked like a new guy they were teaching to play.

Still, not too shabby on our end for a pug, it was a fun game. :)

ah they were premade? nice

Level 1 shield doesnt remove debuffs, spit will still tick and slows will still take effect after the shield wears off. It isn't till rank 3 that it clenses and makes you immune to debuffs.

i think we were both just pwned. im gonna have to recheck tho im pretty sure it cleans spit

Yes it does... you can test it yourself by creating a single player game on say prison, you as oak vs 5 beasts. all 5 can spit on you and you can remove them all with lvl 1 shield.

People should really test before posting, one of the big problems about the internet is that people spout off stuff that they dont first test or verify!!

Absolutely should. Even playing minion oak build, when against UB, my first skill is lvl1 shield. With the spit damage off and my priests healing me, I could push the UB off the flag/lane early game, and UB becomes less eague to attack me. Also it helps a lot to avoid spike damage (especially from multiple DGs).

a very provocant statement:

only noobs play ub with spit! :P

don't take me too serious ;)
