Rare SOASE Planetary Anomaly

Many have seen gravity wells nearly ontop of eachother, but have you ever seen two planets DIRECTLY ontop of each other in collision?

A weird occurance.

As you can see the two planets are colliding. If you look closely another strange thing has happened, the lower gravity well does not have any phase lanes connecting to it. I thought that was strange too, with a little investigating I found that it does in fact have a phase lane that travels through the planet! Below is a scout preparing to phase jump directly into the northern pole of the terran planet.

Just thought I'd share this rarity.

Personally, I feel sorry for the residents of the terran planet.

"Hey mom, I'm going to go swim in the ocean!"
"NO, BILLY, NO! THE WATER'S TURNED SULFU-Oh god no.."

That, and having a giant doom fleet fly through the lower atmosphere may cause some issues.

I'm sure the volcanic planet has a little something to do with the Toxic Fallout and Dense Molten Core on Mjolnir.

Also when ships jump that phase lane through the center of the planet they emerge from phase space right smack in the middle of the volcanic planet, which I thought was quite ridiculous.

I'm gonna have to try and see if I can get galaxy forge to do this... pretty weird!!!

If you're talking about trying to repeat this in Galaxy Forge, what would be amazing(and humorous!) to see would be one huge totem pole of planets with the sun in the direct centre.

what map did you see this on? While I've seen some pics of overlapping gravity wells, and this very funny pic of 2 colliding planets, I wonder if you can overlap a pair of gravity wells so that-

a. no need for phase-space travelling between them, since they overlap

b. overlap them so that one is at an alternate altitude (height) in relation to the other.

This abnormaly occurs if you have numerous planets in a very small confinded space, my suggest is to either incrase the galaxy size or lower to number of planet

metersPerGalaxyUnit 25000.000000 -> pixel size of each galaxy (not sure but if you increase the galaxy size it does tends to space it more apart)
pixelsPerGalaxyUnit 2.619999 -> same here

End of Whiskey144's quote

it mostly occurs on randomly generated maps

stange as it might sound, it mostly occurs on the huge and large maps
