Does armor mitigate melee damage against QoT's Bramble Shield ?
Does anyone know for sure?
Because that would heavily influence the choice of equipment. Just Scalemail and Nimoth's armor would nearly double the effectiveness of shield in that case.

Shield takes unmitigated damage.
Which is something that should change, in my opinion. You end up mitigating more damage by staying opened and spamming Ground Spikes for the Goddess of Thorns buff. Shield's role in late game is laughable. Fortunately most games don't go that far.
Hmmm ... Shield should take unmitigated damage when QoT shields herself. That would make Shield at least useful for later levels.
But if you shield your team tanks, then they become practically unkillable.
I think QoT needs a different approach to make her shield useful. Like lower mana cost and shortened cooldown.
Or stacking shields. They go away after a minute anyway. Maybe stacked shields could dissipate even faster.
Don't stack shields. But the mana efficiency really needs to scale better. At higher levels heal is a lot stronger than shield. Heal factors in mitigated damage from armor, cleanses negative affects and also damages ... and at a lower mana cost of mana per hp...
Queen on the other hand needs to usually shield > change form > spikes > change form again > shield again...
Useless at end game to use shield. Queen strategy means always push fast at lower levels while shield is still viable.
Sedna's Heal is empowered by armoured teammates.
Oak's Shield also scales into end game and he's not even a support General.
Shield needs to scale with armour.
-Sedna MP III +15% minion Damage Passive 3 points +17% cooldown Aura.
-QoT GS IV +15%(roughly) minion and DG damage 4 points and Huge Mana cost plus activated not passive.
-7 Points to Max out Summoned Minions for QoT 6 for Sedna.
-Passive Move Speed increase for Sedna, High Mana cost activated equivalent move for QoT and later in the tree.
Counter Healing for Sedna, nothing for QoT
Silence for Sedna, nothing for QoT
At level 5 a general can start taking out towers unscathed so a high mana cost 4 point spell in Uproot at level 10 is a joke.
Big Boobs, well Sedna wears a bra so I'm sure hers are just as nice once you get the kit off.
Bearing this in mind, not having shield scale with armour merely adds insult to injury.
Playing with QoT when your rank is on the line is never going to happen.
If you were to exchange some of QoT's useless skills for a % damage mitigation modifier to the shield, I wouldn't be entirely against the idea. Although that would require new art, which means it won't happen.
If you really want to use Shield for support by constantly casting it on teammates, you have to stay in closed mode (more mana regeneration) all the time and get at least the 1st, 3rd and 4th helm. Only then Shield can be useful in a team game, else it's not even a support skill because you'd only Shield yourself and go to open mode.
Also the Shield part of the special skill "Goddess of Thorns" is laughable, because the 35DPS area damage it adds to the Shield is hardly noticably because from level15 even a maxed out Shield usually stays up for only very few seconds.
Actually, take a look at all three level15 special skills of the QoT and tell me how they are not ridiculously bad.
