Galactic Appeal on Community Projects to all Galcivers
from
Stardock Forums
In line with the White Council’s aspiration to contribute in a small way to the Galciv community, we are seeking to start three community projects. However, being constrained by the lack of resources, we are making an appeal to the wider Galciv community for assistance and support.
Before I describe the projects, I would like to point out that supporters of these projects are in no way obliged to be part of the White Council (though we do welcome Galcivers who share our vision).
The community projects proposed by the White Council are as follows:
Project 1 - The Suggestive Sort
Objective - To summarise the suggestion lists in the forum in a logical and useful way to Stardock and future suggestors
Project 2 - The Community Hall of Fame
Objective - To collate interesting and fun stuff from our forum experience for posterity (eg. Top 10 Dramatic Forum Events, Top 10 Funny Quotes from Galcivers, Top 10 Funny Quotes in the Game)
Project 3 - The War Room
Objective - To collate Galciv strategies and make them useful and accessible to Galcivers
These are the short briefs on the objectives of each project. I would expect each project team to further develop on them. Just a note that we would only kick-off a project if we deem that it has garnered sufficient support and resources to give it a fair chance of success.
We are looking for people who can do project coordination, people with technical skills as it is likely that the main project work will be done offsite on another website/forum, and mostly a lot of folks who can contribute their time to do the real legwork (like going through suggestion lists).
If you are keen to participate, please reply to this post with the project you are interested in, the type of role that you would like to play and lastly your email address for future contact purposes.
If you are not able to participate but would like to make suggestions on future projects or the proposed ones, you are most welcome to do so as well.
Lastly, if any Stardock folks are reading this and feel that our projects are not going to be helpful (esp Project 1), please do let us know so that we can divert our energies to other projects.
Thank you and we look forward to your support.
