stumped on group movement

I've looked about for the answer to this question but I guess I'm running the wrong search terms. This is my first game of galciv and I don't follow the forums much so if you've already beaten this one to death - my apologies.
I'm playing in the largest galaxy type (24 x 24?) with lots of habitable planets, so I have many, many, many ships. Unfortunately I can't find two commands I need to avoid tediously moving each and every ship individually to a particular location:
- redirect production: is there a command to automatically send a ship produced at a planet to some other location?
- group movement: is there a way to select ships *off the ship list* - this is crucial - and send them all to the same location. Example: say I've built 10 constructors across my empire and all are going to be used for a new base. I want to go to the ship list, select all 10 in one go, and then click ONCE at the location to send them on their way. I've tried the obvious stuff (CTRL-click, etc.). As is, the lack of the ability to group move makes the game, at this point, 90% boring detail work (select, center map on target, click; rinse, repeat ad nauseum). I'm hoping this isn't a real lack of ability, but simply ignorance on my end as to what the proper command is.
