Galaxy Forge auto-defeat in Entrenchment

I tried making some simple maps in GalForge a while back, before Entrenchment, in 1.05 I think, and they worked fine.  I tried again a while back in Entrenchment and it didn't work at all.  I tried making a map with the map designer and loading it in GalForge, that didn't work either.

Where should I put the map files now?  What files do I have to edit to get the game to see the maps?  How do I prevent auto-defeats?  What causes them?

1. Put your galaxy forge maps into the GalaxyForge folder located in the AppData Sins of a Solar Empire folder (where you put your mods).

2. Put it right their it shouldn't have to edit any files, though if you are having trouble you could put it in Entrenchments Galaxy folder and edit the Galaxy.manifest file.

3. Make sure every player has a starting planet to prevent auto victory/defeat. This is the main cause of auto defeats.

assuming you have sins 1.17/entrenchment 1.03,  the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xp
C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge

or here for vista/windows 7
C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge.

NOTE the first two folders after the 'user name' are hidden , so to see them you must first click on 'tools' then 'folder options', then 'view', then click on 'show hidden files& folders' then click ok, then you will be able to browse your want to the folder. I suggest when you find the folder that you create a shortcut to it on the desktop

also the galaxy forge maps only show up in the galaxy forge tab of map types

and if a map you want to play was released before 25th feb 2009 then you will also neet the sins map updater from here
http://files.filefront.com/sins+map+updater+v201rar/;13585432;/fileinfo.html

if you have sins 1.15 and earlier then the maps should go into the program files galaxy folder, if you have only sins 1.15 & entrenchment 1.01 then again the program files\sins\galaxy folder and edit the \entrenchment\galaxy.manifest adding the number of maps added at the top

NOT in C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge\Entrenchment

?

Also, I tried moving the file, and for some reason, even though I only mapped out four starting positions, it tried to load ten players.

EDIT: OK, tried again.  This time, I see the map in Small Scenarios as well as Galaxy Forge.

EDIT AGAIN:  Still doesn't work.  There are four starting positions, called Player-0-Home, Player-1-Home, Player-2-Home, and Player-3-Home.  All are TerranHome type, all are connected to the map, all four and one other planet to which they are connected are outside the star's disk.  Might that be it?

if you load a map designer map in galaxyforge then you do have to delete the extra players OR add extra home planets

this is because of the way mapdesigner sotres it's maps (they have different file structures) and mapdesigner defaults to 10 players

Oh, I see.  How do I drop it from 10 players to 3?

EDIT:  Hah hah HAH, found it!  I had too many entries in the Players menu.  Retesting.

EDIT MORE:  It works again!  Thanks harp.
