Randomly appearing technology

Help anyone! I've just recently purchased a copy of GC2 gold edition and I'm having not much fun. Whenever I play a normal game, my tech tree starts randomly populating with WAY advanced technology. The game is giving my black hole guns and advance tech on every branch of the tree after every turn I take. It really stinks, because the game will randomly give me "Technology Victory" tech and you guessed it, the game is over. All the civs in the game seem to be affected, but the AI has no idea what to do with such high level tech so early in the game. Anyone have any ideas?

I take back what I said about other civs getting advanced technology. Its only my tech tree that is apparently getting random technology to appear. I have the latest version of GC2 (1.50.135) and the latest version of Dark Avatar (1.80g.100) installed. I can literally look at my research screen and as I'm looking at it, advanced technology all around the tree is popping up as researched.

I have not heard of your problem before, but i am confident that you do NOT have the latest version of the game installed. I think the latest DA is 2.01.

You need to get Impulse to download the last patches.
