I'd like it too but again it's not a big enough issue to warrant them fixing it now,,, besides if they start charging for new demis that they make then everything with the game becomes a moot point

good idea imo, the more functions this game has the more fun people will have. fiddling with zoom is a pain in the ass.
Agreed, but .. fiddling? You scroll the mouse wheel. It's difficult to image a simpler technique.
why should i zoom out as far as possible for a teleport when i can just click it on the minimap?
With a single 'flick' of the wheel, I'm zoomed out and clicked where I need to go. Honestly, I find the concept of orders by mini-map kind of outdated, and when I play other RTS games I find their lack of strategic zoom so very annoying. Yes, mini-map use could be helpful but we have a working method in place already - zooming - and I'd prefer to see other additions be made to the game first. I believe the Mini-map was for those "at a glance" sit-reps you need, rather than a method of input.

actualy after fiddling around with the maps and rooting through the basic file i'v noticed that mini map is actualy very very superficial. almost nothing can be done with it except respond to stuff done to the actual game (like show dg's, buildings and pings).
although i would also enjoy being able to carbon copy my movement form one RST to the next i think in demigods case the core mechanics of the game might need to be changed in order for this to occure. for now best best it to do as ZehDon suggested and get used to the zoom/pan system

strategic zoom is a great function to give you more overview.
but
there could be some sepecial frantic situations where every second is important, and jumping with strategic zoom needs 1 seconds (scroll out croll in) but jumping with right click on minimap needs only a split of second !
so integrate both ! choicing a jump-method is a simple question of in what situation you are in game !
and i think its not very difficult or expansive to implement it by GPG ! ![]()
and left clicking to signal would be very nice too. a standard in rts games i think.
Giving signals and sending demigods and summonings via minamap would be great.
i died like a noob today because zoom out was too slow for teleporting.
actualy for teleporting i think there should be an option to double click the telescroll and automaticly target the citadel. its not game breaking but it would be so much nicer for quick escapes.
That's a pretty good idea Alien, I almost always use the scroll to get back to the Citadel so it would work great.
I always go straight for the item shop or health crystal(if the latter isn't close enough to the former) when porting to escape myself(Paranoia of a possible snipe still killing me after I port(however that works, anyway), I suppose.)
Alternatively another way is to quickly hold space, adjust the camera so you have horizontal sight on the target(ie. The Citadel, you know, big tower, can't miss it) and click quickly.
However, I certainly wouldn't mind adding some functionality to the minimap. Pinging locations, for example, is too helpful to have been left out in my opinion.

It's not that I can't manage to zoom out, click and zoom back in again but that 3 things to do rather than a simple right click.
Perhaps I'm being lazy or efficient depending on how you look at it ![]()
I've been right-clicking on the mini-map in RTS games for over a decade. zoom-out works... kind of... but let's face it, it isn't as quick or effective.
It hasnt, press "p" click on map (not minimap) and ping will go off
