Alt+Tab Preview Problem

Hi there. I run Vista SP2 and I recently installed this Windowblinds theme: http://lassekongo83.deviantart.com/art/NOOTO-VS-104181358?offset=100# to my desktop. However, this particular theme was designed for XP.

 

I'm having a problem where my alt+tab previews are completely blacked out, shown in this screenshot here: http://img44.yfrog.com/i/24947560.jpg/

 

Is there any way to have Windowblinds not put a skin on the alt+tab preview? Or does it have to do with the skin itself, and the fact that it was designed for XP, which does not have the same XP alt+tab preview images?

I would suggest updating to the latest version and see if you still have an issue. I am not seeing the problem on my system.

Thats a visual style, WB doesnt support conversion to Vista.

Open the WB in skinstudio and go to the alt tab section code tab and delete everything. It should then default to Aero standards.

I can't find the alt tab code, do you know what the headline would be? Everything seems to be broken down into parts but I still can't really find it.

In Sks:  go to Edit additional Vista parts/alt tab switcher button/code editor tab

I still can't seem to find those sections. This is all I see when I import the style to skinstudio. Even after I expand all those branches I can't find those options.

yes

You are using Skinstudio 5 which doesn't support any vista elements. You need Sks6 to do what you want (I believe the code section is only available with the pro version of sks 6)

 

I wouldn't recommend altering a vista skin with version 5......it can really screw up the code.

ahhh, I got skinstudio 4.6 because I didn't know how to import a .msstyle with 6.4

 

with 4.6 it was simply just click on the first popup window once you start the program that says "import .msstyle" do you know how to import it with 6.4?

nevermind, I figured it out. but yeah I see that you can't edit code with the free version of sks6. is there another way to fix this problem then?

 

 

I found my way to the alt+tab switcher button, but i'm not sure what to do from there.

You can save this image

import it into skinstudio

make sure to check the transparent and alpha channel boxes

set your painting margines to 5,5,5,5

hit apply

thanks for your help anyway. i only got this computer + vista one week ago. so i never got a chance to get attached to the alt+tab realtime preview images anyway! hehe
