Moral on planets

It seems I hit a block at about 12 colonies. Every colony there after starts out with a moral of about 12, two turns later it goes over to the I-league. What am I doing wrong? The other races have 20 to 30 colonies and there killing me on influence.

It ranges on where I pull the colonists from as too the amount (usually I just take the default given when I hit launch). And they are always class 15 and up.

The default? You mean half the building system's population? There's your problem. Since colony ships have unlimited capacity, just launching them right away can put billions of people on the ships. Stick with low numbers, about 75-150 million. Remember, morale is affected by the planet quality and how big the population is.

Yeah I guess that makes since dropping 1 billion people on a new planet with no resources. And it would also explain why the problem seems to happen later in the game since those planets I'm pulling from have had the opportunity to build up huge populations.
