Download Version Questions

I've read the download vs retail thread and it doesn't answer my questions, so any help greatly appreciated.
I downloaded the game, and installed etc every thing fine so far, but I would now like to reinstall to a different directory or even a different machine (without internet access). At the time of the original download I had not seen the Download AND Archive option. To get back up copies do I have to download everything again?! This would now make the game much dearer than just buying it retail by the time I pay excess download charges.
I have tried downloading and archiving (from work) and have then taken the archived files home on CD but cannot get Stardock to do anything with them.
If someone/anyone can step me through this I'd be most appreciative.
Frankly the download option is not looking like it was a good idea at all at this stage!
That said the game itself is great fun.
