Question about galaxyforge Settings

hey guys,

I was just wondering if there was a way to set it so that in a single player game, you could take the same player slot ( as in Player0,Player1,Player2 in the galaxy forge)

I am playing around with the galaxy forge right now and I have it as a 3 player map , with 2 players supposed to be the computer, playing offense. and the 1 player as defense in the defensively supperior position,  and i had to join the game half dozon times to get into that spot as the player.  and I was wondering if there was just any way to change it so that I controled the systems I wanted to control threw map settings instead of just random luck.

thanks for your help

yes in the first tool box (in other words nothing is selected) change the line of randomized postitions to false

and so you just select the player number you want to be in? or just select 1 player to be the human player?

player0 is normally the default human player setting, you change this in game

so with randomizepositions set to false, where ever player0's homeworld is set, is where human will start

thanks.

now heres another question... is there anyway to mass change the owner player status from Player2 to Player0 for a large group of planets  or does it HAVE to be one at a time?

have to admit, have never tried that

You COULD open it up in notepad and try using find/replace.  On occasion I've found just editing it by hand to be faster when galaxyforge lacks a good feature to get it done.

If you want to do advanced editing, you'll need to learn how to use notepad to modify galaxyforge maps.  This is because the current version of galaxyforge crashes whenever you try to create units for players to start with at the beginning of the game.

worked perfectly.  did a find replace player0 to player3,  then Player2 to player0, then Player3 to player2 and everything worked out exactly what I wanted it to without the half hour of clicking =).

thanks

ive been out of the loop for the last few months , ( i took a break from RTS's including Sins)  and just got back into it, and wanted to play one of my favorate self made maps and I have it setup so that player0 has control of specfic planets ( as does player1 and 2)  but I dont startout at the spot where I want to now.  I checked the galaxyforge3 and the random positions is set at false. and im not sure what im doing wrong now.  did they change anything having to do with the default human player being player 1 or something?
