Exchanging Priests

I was digging through the LUA files the other day, and I noticed something about the data for priests.

When you are healed by priest idols, there is a debuff that is applied that prevents you from being healed by that type of priest for 7.95 seconds. This means that only one of the two priests can heal a single target every 7.95 seconds. However, priests can heal every 5 seconds, as long as there is a target without a debuff.

The interesting thing about the debuff is that it is different for each priests idol. If two generals are on a team, they could buy different priest idols swap one priest with each other and almost *double* their healing. Doing this with high priest and bishop minions would result in 28% healing every 7.95 seconds, instead of 13%/15%!

Adding in Sedna's healing wind II would bring her healing power to 41% every 7.95 seconds! This would make her even more powerful than before the priest typo. Sure, both generals would have to micro both sides of the map, but for double healing, I would say that it is worth it.

Don't intend on being an ass but, you really didn't know this? =P

I have not seen anyone use this tactic in 200+ games.

But it looks feasible.

So don't be suprised that people don't know about it @ RapierX.

Looks pretty imbalanced to me.

so that's why those things never heal me more than once!

I'm just kind of surprised people didn't know something like this yet. We used it all the time when I played and knew about it relatively quickly.  We always had generals take different levels of priests intentionally. Also, if I remember correctly priest reinforcements have same debuff as monk idol, so you can stack 3 different heals with 2 generals on the team assuming they use different priest idols (excluding monk idol).

Now, whether we actually sent priests to each other was a matter of us being lazy or not, depending on competition.

RapierX,

Good to see you back here. I had heard about it a long time ago, but I'd forgotten about it. Digging through the LUA files made me remember it. I thought I'd share it with everyone.

(P.S, since replays are out, is there any chance that we could see TAG in action?)

Nope, I just browse the forums occasionally.

That's why two generals that both ahve tier I monks should never share lanes. Priests, or different tier'd monks will heal independently. This is huge in 3v3 combats with a Sedna (it comes out to like 50% healing every 8 seconds with tier I and II monks + Priests) which is massive NAD free.

However, exchanging priests is difficult once you start teleporting around like crazy... since your priest come with.

This was known a long long time ago. This was abused heavily when the sedna heal wind bug was still around.

Forunately for most (if not all) teams 8 seconds is more than enough to kill sedna and her entire team unless you lack the DPS necessary to do it. Or you allow the other team to stack hp so high it renders your DPS moot.

For example this kind fo healing is able to counter fire TB and reg snipe since they do not have the ability to out damage the heals in time.
