[0.24][CRASH] CTD on start up but sometimes it works

Elemenal does a CTD on the load screen:
Vista 64 bit, clean install of latest Beta, deleted the Documents\My Games\Elemental folder from the previous install.

After several failed game starts, the game did run but then I had a CTD after clicking on the Play button (final game configuration step): debug.err http://pastebin.com/m438ab5aa

I really can't tell why the game sometimes works. The last time I tried it didn't have any CTD at all and I had a lot of fun trying to find a farm plot for my city
