Being Safe
Some recent crime in our neigborhood has me a little scared. There has been people breaking into cars in the middle of the day, and kids being lured into this one guy's van. I don't know why people choose to act like this, but its aweful. I wish I could do something to stop it, but all I can do now is try to protect myself and the people around me. I bought some pepper spray, but I'm also going to buy tasers for my husband and I. Except I don't really know where there are tasers for sale around here. I guess I could always just buy them online. I could probably find some cheap used ones too.
I usually try not to get too paranoid about this kind of stuff. Because you can't avoid every bad thing in the world. But its all happening so close to home that I really feel like these protective steps are neccessary. I'm sure my husband is perfectly safe without pepper spray or a taser, but I feel better if he has it on him. I've taken some self-defense classes before, but all that stuff is hard to think through in the moment. Using the pepper spray is much simpler lol.
When I'm not thinking about the crazy stuff going on around here, I'm catching up on my reading. Lately, I've been reading a book duet called Dreamhunter by Elizabeth Knox. This book is great so far. My sister gave it to me for my birthday, along with some other books. It's on Stephenie Meyer's recommended book list as well. I'm also looking up stuff on rodeos for my brother, like this. Yes, he's still considering it. Peace.
