v1.181. Under the impression that this is supposed to alow you to jump direct to a system 2 jumps away. But as far as I can see it does not change movement in any way at all.

um i think your talking about the tech that allows you to leave your system and jump from one star to another.
Yeah, the long jump tech does not allow you to bypass planets by going to one that is two jumps away. It allows you to jump from your systems star to a different star system. If you're playing on a map that only has one star, this tech doesn't do you any good. If you are playing on a map with more than one star, it's required research.
