Gone back to Rocketdock.

OD screws with things, doesn't work right, and I found a way to achieve what I wanted w/ Rocketdoc. Good luck on delevopment, I'll check in occasionally.

Do you know how long it's been since Rocketdock had an update?  While it's not approaching the 2-3 years since ObjectDock has had any new features, it's starting to get up there too.   :(

Honestly, I skin for both dock programs. They both have their advantages so it's really up to the user which one they choose. I'm not going to say one is better than the other. However, I've never had a problem with objectdock.....

I use both. I gotta have my Tabs so that's OD Plus. Here's where OD Plus let's me down: Zoomers. Can someone tell me why they didn't just make it so that the zoomers could be "normal" on the desktop? The free version has that. I don't want my dock to "hide" etc., I just want it to be on the desk top level, nothing more and nothing less. At any rate Rocket Dock can be on the desktop level period. You can basically use all the backgrounds from OD with it, maybe a tweak here and there, and most docklets. Hasn't crashed on me. OD Plus hasn't crashed either. Both are stable so why not use both? :*

Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

Makes it do exactly that.

Just do the "Keep on top" option...or Zakai's option. Hey! I like that. Sounds like a chess move.

Yes that's true but it is not what I said.

I don't want it on top or on the bottom or hidden. I just want it to be on the desktop. What is so hard to understand?

Sounds like a bunch of bullshit.

Well the first thing that is hard to understand is why anytime someone tries to help or has a differing opinion your first go to move is to have  a dickish response.

The second thing that is so hard to understand is that if the settings I showed :

Click on "Hide in background when not in use" and set the slider to "disabled"

make it so the docks are not in your way when you are using other apps and make it so it does not slide the docks off the screen where you have to mouse over the edge to get them to show again and therefore anytime you shrink down whatever you have open you see the docks right there on desktop level where the hell is your issue? Is it just the fact it says "Hide" in the option and you don't like it or what?

Like I said in my original post:

Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

those settings make it act just like a zoomer in the free version.

Steady on. Take an even strain.

Let's all relax...

I thought you gave a really good explanation, Zakai (for what it's worth). ;)

I like to use the "Reserve edge of screen" for dual sidebars. On a 22" screen or more, this works good. I like it when my applications appear between the sidebars (I can grab things quickly). The system tray is hidden on the bottom. Objectdock is so good...
