Can't Restore win7 default icons with IP4.2

The windows default settings on IP4.2 for win7 doesnt match the actual default icons.

If I uninstall IP all the icons are wrong. Is it possible to restore them to the original icon set or would i have to wait till IP5 is ready

I have the same issue but worse, I un-installed and got an error and now I can not even re-install, so I am stuck with the wrong icons.

I guess a Win 7 re-install is in my future.

Seems strange that the IconPackager site states Windows 7 supported but the default icons don't come back.

Update:  I returned to a previous install/restore point and the icons are now ok.  I think I will wait on buying this for the time being, I used these products in the past and they don't seem to quite return your system back to it's original state.

I've always had quirky problems with IconPackager even when I used it on XP. The default icons always seemed wrong in one way or another.

Note....

The suggested fix has neither been checked as accurate nor shown to be a safe option as it requires editing of the OS registry.

I believe that, in order for IP to work correctly on win7, you must be using version 5.0. ;)

Doesn't IconPackager modify the registry?  I ask this because I did an RUI of Windows 7 with IconPackager uninstalled, and my icons have the same issues.  Mainly it's the .exe ones, but there's something internal that IconPackager modifies...
