Is there more than one patch available?

I've just got the game and notice that I'm missing some things explained in the updated manual, such as the political group Universalists etc.
The patch is 7 megs. That'll take hours for me to download via dialup.
Is there a smaller patch available or do I just click and go to bed?

If 7MB is causing you to groan, you're going to hate it when the expansion pack comes out (free, but only available by download).

But, yes, if you download the available standalone it comes with all of the bonus pack material integrated. If you use Stardock Central you do have the option of just downloading the core game updates (about 2MB) but, really, just grin and bear it. I use to download 500MB demos over dialup (much to my wife's horror LOL ), it was painful but you do what you gotta do.

There is only one stable fully tested release patch and that is the one you found in the download section, the 1.04 with bonus pack. You can also install Stardock and take your chances with the beta 1.05 patch, which seems pretty stable to me. I don't know if that would be a smaller install or not. Are you using an old, slow modem and/or do you have a real bad connection? Those 7 megs should be like a 30 minute proposition on a 56K modem if the connection is decent.

I'll probably download the patch this weekend.
It'll be a while before I have any icons, I have a feeling.
