gang building

If I want to build something like eye of the universe or any other wonder, does it help to have more than one planet research it at same time. I realize that many of the social projects only affect the planet you build them but is it the same for a wonder?? Thanks for help.

No, that doesn't help. The opposite is true, it's a waste of resources. Only one planet can build and finish a wonder or tradegood, so when you build it on more then one and the first finishes, all the production on the others is lost.
But many Wonders, like eyes og the universe, help all your shipes or planets once you finished it, not matter where you finished it.

So it is a good idea to have one or a few planets with high production - choose worlds with high PQ and give them all possible upgrade like Manufacturing Capital, Power Plants and so on, along with a Starbase that pushes up your production - so you will be able to build wonder or tradegoods there real fast.

I usually have two or three planets in my empire dedicated to working on different wonders and trade goods at the same time. Sure, I get beaten once in a while and lose the production, but one of the other planets might get a one of the other wonders built.

If it a really important wonder or trade good to your style of play, you can always lease it. Just be careful. It can get quite costly to rush things, so only use it if it is important. If you have a lot of cash, try buying it outright. This does not tie you down with leases that could strangle your economy, but costs thousands up front.
