Dysynch Still Happening?

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Play Multiplayer...

So, I've been trying to get a few of my friends in the mood for playing Sins in preparation for the beta.  Unfortunately, the desynch bug I used to hear so much about is now happening to me - usually about 4 hours into the game.  At that point everything lags, then I get a message that one or more human players have disconnected.  And then everyone is playing in their own single player game.

Sins is a pretty cool game, but this desynch business is really harshing my mellow at the moment.  While there does seem to be a bug underneath this whole problem and I hope that the devs eventually resolve it, in the meantime I'm more interested in getting recommendations on what I can do to minimize the likelihood of this happening.  Any hardware or driver tweaks that seem to help keep the desynch bug away?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: Wow, mispelled my own title.  Hopefully fixed it now.

I've used about 10 different computers , 5 different OS (both 64 and 32) and 7 different video cards.  Still happens

It's not too common in online multiplayer but it does happen sometimes.  My understanding is that the cause of the desync errors has something to do with differences in people's random number generators and that the best way to avoid it is to just close Sins and Reload Sins after every game, especially for games with other players like you describe where some might have been playing it for a while before joining the group game.  Try that--try having everyone close it and reload it before you guys start.  You could also save the game once an hour and then do a group close/reload/rejoin saved game.
