Suggestions: Resize icons; multi-colored zooming fences

Thank you SOOOO much, Stardock. I had a long list of productive activities to accomplish today. Then I stumbled across Fences. It's now half past six in the evening and I'm still playing with it, having gotten NOTHING useful done. [/rant]

Unfortunately (and this is partly Fences' falt) my desktop overfloweth with icons, leading to my own suggestions.

1. Resizeable icons -- from large to "Tiny. Really tiny."

2. Set icon spacing.

3. Allowing setting a different color for each field, the way ObjectDock Plus does for tabs.

4. Field-zooming on mouse hover.

So I could have a desktop covered with a dozen or two fences, circumscribing a hundred or two mini-icons. Each field is uniquely colored -- the yellow fence is Apps; green fence over there is Games -- and fences zoom in on mouse hover so I can see and access individual icons.

Yeah, I know. Fences is really just an icon-pusher, that programatically moves icons around on the desktop, meaning most of the above lies outside its scope. But a guy can dream, right?

I would guess that if any of those appear they would be in the Fences Pro version rather that the free version.

Though I can't say if any of those features will be added as you quite rightly point out some of those things may be well outside the current scope of fences.

Good suggestions for new features, KW.

May I also suggest that a way be found so that when new files/icons are saved to the desktop, that they don't get buried behind a fence but rather be moved outsdide of the fenced-off areas.

I'd also like to see some user definable spacing parameters b e added to the fences--both vertical and horizontal, to keep the fence spacing neat and tidy.

If you really want to get fancy, allow the user to optionally define file types to be auto-allocated to the fence groups so that BMPs could go to one group, DOCs to another, XLSs to another, etc.
