Sins Guide?

Is there one available?

Hey All,

I stepped away from SOASE awhile ago due to health reasons, but now I'd like to get back into the swing of things after buying Diplomacy.  Does anyone know of a guide online or document form, that I can grab and look through to reaquaint myself with:

Ships
Strategies
Races
etc.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Unfortunately, the game lacks a comprehensive guide.  This is a good unit guide written by Raging Amish, but the section on capital ships is outdated since they were overhauled (in a positive way) last version:

Hold on there bud, I'm taking some time away from online gaming to make one.  It should be ready next week sometime.

Sagewon's ability guide is up to date however.  I recommend that to compliment Amish's guide.

This would be useful.  But it might be better to wait for Diplomacy, since many things are likely to change on release.

Well, I assumed that it would be okay seeing as how its stickied in the "Strategy" section...

Anyways...

While they are a useful descriptions of abilities, I'd be slightly weary of his star ratings.  These guides are always going to be opinionated, but he's very generous to some highly situational caps and abilities, while being absolutely brutal to others.

True, but if nothing else, he does a good job explaining what they do and the stars are a rough estimate...

What is the point of a good game if there is a guide, get cracking on playing and figuring what works and what doesn't!!!

Thats the same as saying the best time to figure out how to play basketball is during your first game.  Strategy guides are great because alot of things online happen so fast and hinge on such small details it can be almost impossible to figure out without having it explained to you after the fact.

Usually frigate guides are less biased then capital ship guides, but make sure you check what patch they are written for because it makes a huge difference.
