WinCustomize Submission Guidelines

https://www.wincustomize.com/guidelines.asp
In the past there have been many questions in regards to WinCustomize's policy on accepting new Skins/Themes/Wallpapers submissions. Unfortunately we did not have any written guidelines for you to follow. But thanks to Paxx, he has taken the initiative to work with the other moderators and compile a list of guidelines that will help you understand what is acceptable and what is not. Hopefully these guidelines will answer most of your questions and raise a few in the process. Click on the following link to view our new guidelines.

I think the wallpapaers bit is a very grey area, but can I assume that if you do not accept a submission, that you will email an individual to notify them?

CAClark, yes, normally we will respond with an email if a Wall submission is moderated.

It may 'appear' to be a 'grey area', but in fact, if the Wall section was not controlled and limited, there would be substantially more walls in the section, dominating and overrunning the database, and there are already numerous web-sites devoted to Walls, whereas Wincustomize.com is primarily a Skinning site, wher Wallpapers are 'just' one part of a bigger picture [no pun intended]...

oops - I haven't been getting enough sleep... Craig (CAClark), You had posted a question about your wallpapers being blackballed because they are Babylon5 scenes. I went to respond to your post and hit the "delete" button by mistake... Sorry. In my brain-dead state I thought I was hitting a "reply" button...

Anyway, I sent you an email about your walls. Is your email address on the site not correct? The problem with your submissions is you sent a tiny thumbnail image as the Preview. It was so small I had to download all your walls to look at them. I wrote to you asking if you would re-upload them with a full-size preview image. I was intending to approve them (although I think they would be better without the large title text at the bottom). Send them again with a preview that can be seen (1024 would be good).

I am relieved to see that you will not 86 really good art on the grounds of inclusion of nudity. I am also relieved to see that you're acting to discourage the glut of XP related wallpapers. In general I think (and yes, it's just my opinion) that Microsoft just doesn't need free advertising from skinning artists...and I just don't understand why so many folks seem to want to glorify Windows XP. I won't get into all the reasons why I'm less than enthused about it as it would take up way too much space; suffice it to say I just don't want it staring at me in the form of skins and wallpapers every time I boot up my box.
