Good versus Evil.

I was just wondering what are the advantages/technologies available to good/evil empires. I have been playing as evil simply because evil always gets the better planet, higher morale, higher research choices.

So what is the point of being good? Are there any really good technologies available to a good empire?

And what specific technologies are available to an evil empire that a good empire doesn't get?

Also, is there any legit way to make the choices screen come up more often?
