Here we go:  there aren't alot of demigod clans out there.  The game CURRENTLY has less than 500 people that play together at any given time online.  I can't back that number up, but I think that's fairly reasonable based on what I've seen.  Out of those 500 or so players, many of those players many have bad connections and some outright cheat.  You probably don't want to play with them.  I probably don't either.  So, getting a group of people together that don't cheat or have bad connections is a pretty good idea IMO.  Plus, coordinating a team in demigod is MUCH easier if you have voicechat.  Let's do that too. So - players with good connections + players that use voicechat (at least to listen in) = clan pacov.  Its pretty much an all welcome scenario so long as you fit that criteria.  Here's the info you need to join voicechat:

Once you join the vent, PM someone in clan pacov.  Each of our channels are password protected but there are plenty of public channels to idle in and people clan pacov check out the pub channels from time to time.

Here's what we deliver.  You get more balanced games with people that don't cheat.  I regularly balance games out to encourage more people to play with and against us.  

Ask questions if you have them and any clan pacov specific discussions belong here (casual, serious, etc).

Clan Pacov Mission Statement:

Clan pacov isn't about forming team super premade.  Its about frequently getting fun games going and occassionally getting some really competitive games going as well.  We welcome like minded, non-devisive individuals interested in playing games on a semi-regular basis.  We don't welcome people who cheat at games.  We will mix up teams to make things fun.  We will all generally be using voicechat.  We will play with and against each other.  We will play with and against other clans.

FYI - the clan channel is most active between 6PM-2AM EST daily, but people are on all hours of the days

played the crap out of supcom2 SP tonight after some BFBC2... my on call activities for work have been hellish this week and my reward is a completely jacked up sleep schedule.  For instance, its 5am here and I'm thinking about going to sleep... I don't work 3rd shift, btw... meh.

Does anyone have experience with spring? I don't seem to get it to work. I regstered but for some reason I can't log in, and I want some multiplayer games in!

Up and running..  although I am having some issues with Punkbusters.  I went through the install along with BFBC2 yet when I try to play MP I get a message that I need to be running PB....  I guess there is an issue with MP in general so I'll wait a bit to try again.

I'll add you tomorrow Mauxe.  I don't know who all is affected by the PB issues... download PB setup if you are getting kicked on join alot and update.  That solved quite a few problems for me anyway.  I'm pacov.  And trouser is trousersnake.  Add us.  We'll play some tomorrow if you are free.  I'm taking the day off of work.  I expect to be playing SOMETHING by noon.

Finished the BFBC2 SP today.  Pretty quick playthrough.  Got in a few games of that with kalel.  Stayed playing through mass effect 2.  Pre-ordered dawn of war 2 expansion (due out tomorrow or so)... oddly, I don't like the MP that much in that game, but I still enjoy the SP.  Had the idea to put a list of things that still needs fixed or enhanced in case DG does get patched at some point. Oh, and final fantasy 6,000 came out today.  I'll resist picking that up for as long as possible, but me loves for ff.

I have gotten some MP BC2 in lately.  I like it.  Hopefully we can get a few on and get our own squad up.  That will definitely increase the fun factor!  Still working through the single player.  One thing that I don't love is that the enemy AI can spot me from any angle as long as they have some sliver of LOS to go off of...  and as soon as they have the possibility to spot me they shift focus from my squad to me.  It is a bit unrealistic...  although I suppose it is not realistic to have every member of my squad get knocked over by a barrage of bullets only to pop back up and keep firing ineffectively.

got to play some with mauxe/kalel/jon/trouser yesterday in BFBC2.  Good times!  And I picked up FF 6,000 today as well, shiro.  Not sure when I'll start playing it - but i gots it.

I'll be closing the doors on clan pacov sometime in the near future.  We'll still exist on the lagwars vent, though under another name.  I expect we will continue to have a semi public section.  As it stands, though, we aren't playing that much Demigod anymore.  It seems like GM is in a similar boat as well.  We are playing alot of BFBC2 if anyone else wants to join in on the fun.  That said, I do expect to get some DG in this weekend.

hehe.  No kidding :)  We actually had a really fun game of dg tonight. http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/1300646/player/28414/

Game went to level 20 with artifacts on cata with my team sqeaking out a win.

The vent channel is now called Osmium Shift.  We've simply consolidated Kalel's channel with mine and dropped the clan pacov moniker. 

And I suppose the wording of "closing the doors on clan pacov" might be a little misleading.  I'll still be playing games with many of the people I've met in Demigod, I just anticipate that I won't be playing as much demigod.  As such, clan pacov won't really be a "Demigod clan" anymore.  And it won't be called clan pacov when all is said and done.  But it will still be me and quite a few folks I've met in Demigod country. 

Here's a little breakdown of people I play regularly with and on what games.  If you are interested in playing any of these games, let me know. 

  • Battlefield Bad Company - Jon, Paint, Trouser, Kalel, pacov, mauxe, and a few guys from jon's clan
  • Demigod - Jon, paint, Trouser, Kalel, pacov, hedgie
  • Aliens V Pred - Jon, Trouser, kalel, pacov, hedgie (game is so so imo :))
  • Dawn of War Soulstorm - Kalel, pacov
  • Dawn of War 2 + Expansion - hedgie, pacov
  • SupCom2 - pacov has and hedgie has, but we don't play together
  • Sins of a Solar Empire - mauxe, hedgie, pacov, several of my lan buds
  • Starcraft 2 - pacov + anyone that wants to play - this will be my next demigod

I have AvP as well, and will probalby pick up Starcraft but wont' be playing it competitively.

Game I do want to get and play competitively is DoW II. Not good at it and coming in you know... a year after the first game came out means I'll get curbstomped but. With the expansion a lot of newbs will be out there too. Plus, my coworker was ranked #35 at one point so I'm hoping he'll teach me some stuff.

omgwtf DoW II is amazing. Finally a game that rivals Demigod...

Sadly, I think that it will be a very, very frustrating multiplayer expierence :-(
