Demigod won't start - missing profile

Been playing demigod for a long time and have latest greatest verison with Occulus. Yesterday (Feb 4-5 late nite-am) game crashed to blue screen. Didn't worry about it at the time.

Windows update pushed a few security fixes, email filter and new remote desktop client.

Today (Feb 5-6 late nite am) Demigod wanted a profile in order to start. I went to Impulse and didn't get any connection (HTTP 500 server error) on checking for "updates".

Now, Impulse works, but Demigod doesn't.

Where's my profile (or backup)? Did System Restore save it with the Restore Point? Was it screwed up before that? HELP!

Vista 32-bit SP1.

confused... try deleting game.prefs from demigod folder?

Thanks, couldn't remember the name of the file......

I have two, actually, a "Game.prefs" and a "Game.prefs.bad"..... I wonder if anybody can help "fix" the "Game.prefs.bad".

Well, looked at the file "Game.prefs.bad" with a binary editor. 33k of '0''s. sigh.
