ahhh... microsoft is coming out with this because they have to, i think i will just stick with what i got rather than have it all muddled up like everything the givernment forces

but IE 6 SP1 and OE is hell of alot faster on XP PRO

V_F, I was just thinking the same thing. I added the IE and XP Pro Services Packs and the performance of the OS just doubled. I highly recommend it. If you are running TGTSoft StyleXP, I did get an error that it may not work. Seems to be working fine though.

I downloaded Windows XP SP1 today and installed it. It includes the IE6 updates. So far it's performing beautifully!!

133 MB! That's 6 minutes of downloading time I'll never get back. Whew!

That's if there server could keep up. That 133MB took me almost an hour on a cable modem.....

Grrrr...motion...I once dl'd the SP1 for Win2K...81meg....took about 8 hours....

my os is winxppro, after installing the sp1, don't feel a change at all.. not diff.. maybe alittle bit more stable (don't see that IE window error poping up that often. but still see it once in awhile)

Does anybody know how to perform a full download of IE6 SP1 ? It was configurable in previous versions, but now that option is gone.

Okay, found out about it, in case someone else wants to know : Make a folder "c:\Downloads", download the setup-prog there and then goto Start--> Run and >"C:\Downloads\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"
