For The Want Of Something Better To Do
or the things we do when we're bored shitless
http://www.thermaltake.com.au/Products/Chassis/VJ40001W2Z/V9.aspxYesterday!!! It was one of those days! I'd read the news, been to majorgeeks to see what's new in the way of software, etc, and I'd been to WC. Quite frankly, there was bugger all of interest anywhere, so I trundled down the street to my fave PC store, just to poke my head in and let 'em know I was still alive. I guess the other reason was boredom and finding something more interesting to do... which after a bit of ho-humming turned out to be spending money.
This Thermaltake case caught my eye and the rest is history.... I bought it. Yup, that gave me something to do alright. I was going to put my main rig into the new box, my spare rig into my current box and the guest rig into my current spare box, leaving a spare case for my sister's upcoming spare rig.
Right now I'm not too sure this was all a good idea. While I've managed to get my main rig mostly together, I have to wait until Monday before I can get it going. The 8-pin plug lead from the PSU to the mobo is about 4 inches too short (PSU now on the bottom... socket's at the top) and I have to get an extension before I can fire the beast up. Oh well, I still have my trusty spare, which went into it's new home like a dream.
I've made a start on the guest machine, but figured with nobody expected there's no hurry, so I'm taking a break from hardware bits for a bit. I realise now that I need to better organise this spare rig, though. While I have some Stardock proggies on it, I've not set up anything else and it's pretty much a bare bones OS and I have no add-ons or anything in FF to simplify things, like piccies through Imageshack, etc. Gotta sort all that out, then I'll post a pic of how my rig looks in its new case.
Anyhow, I'll be buggered if I'm cooking tonight, so I'm off down the street for a Subway. See ya's
(website shot, but will post pics of my setup when I get some digicam batteries)
