Overall, Impulse is superior to Stardock Central. The 2 Gig download size limit is the truth.

It's simply ridiculous to be prejudiced against Impulse. It is an overall elegant solution to several issues

and it is an IM as well.

It is and was a great idea. And when it's time to be replaced comes, I'll bet it's successor will be even better.

because IE and other browsers won't support more than 2GB downloads.

How is it then that I can download files larger than 2GB from MS Volume License site and choose not to use their download manager. There is an option to just download it with IE.

I believe they finally updated this with IE8.  In IE6 and I believe 7 this was a limitation.

Dear All,

I have to say that i was impressed enough with the windowblinds trial to buy it. First software i've EVER bought online. I tried to install it via Impulse 6 or more times! I had various problems each time with my validated install, and now i have reinstalled the trial with NO problems.     after "two business days" i've gotten no response from customer support.  CAN it be activated without Impulse? surely that is what is causing my problem.     (support ticket# DPR 523541)

Security software can hinder installation. What you are trying to do is install software from the internet which is just what the security software is there to prevent.

Try this Anthony, uninstall the trial (you have to in order to get the full version to work) uninstall Impulse.....

Disable your anti-spyware/anti-virus and firewall > install Impulse > Install Windowblinds > exit Impulse > REBOOT BEFORE RUNNING WINDOWBLINDS > make sure to re-enable anti-virus/spyware and firewall.

Replying to your own ticket before we do resets the activity counter on the ticket, which is how we sort tickets for reply.  I've sent you a reply today.

Also, just as Lantec said, the trial needs to go before the full version can be installed.
