changing a blind's name

can you change the name of a blind when it is uploaded?

so I'm working on a blind called "123". when bundled and am uploading the blind it asks me for a name. can I change the name at this point (say, to "321")? the wba's name would still be "123", so...?

Duhhhhhhhhh... o_O

Why on earth would you even want to do that in the first place?  Sure you can upload a file with a different name, but that would be kind of silly don't you think?

when you upload it to wincustomize, you can choose any name you want for it, but it will still show the name you originally gave it in skinstudio when its on windowblinds......

you can change its name in skinstudio...that works. you chose 'save as' then select the name you want.

hope that helps.

you have to choose a name when you start the blind and sometimes half way through I think, "oh, this would be a better name". so, I was just wondering.

I did that once but was unsure of which files needed to be deleted and which I needed to keep. running the "clean up" didn't take all the extra out and the blind was kicked back for me to clean out, ended up rebuilding the blind, not a pleasant experience.

guess the answer is "not easy, but can be done". oh, well, thanks, much appreciated

I feel the same way myself sometimes...so i know what you mean.

as for changing the name...you can do it. that save as thing does work, you dont need to delete anything from the blind after you've changed its name, unless of course its truly rubbish, like 2 of the same rebar or diamond default skin ect...I think you know what I mean.

if you want the files in the skin to have the same name as the new name of the skin, you might have to feed them through sk again, reapply them so to speak. and probably have to rename them before you reimport them. that wouldnt be such a huge job cause all the margins, fonts ect are already set.

imagine that most of us have gone through that.

I did change a skin's name the way that you suggested and while somewhat tedious, worked just fine. always hoping for an easier solution. that's when I started naming my blinds "GB-##", but...

again, thanks
