Yes, more crashes...

Hey guys,

I've been playing Sins since it was released and all the way up until now (and probably further on down the track) I get game crashes. It seems that when there are a lot of AI or objects on the screen, it crashes... but then it just started crashing with barely anything on the screen. When my game crashes, there is no minidump.

I'm running the following system:

OS: Windows 7 64Bit (fully updated)

CPU: Intel i7 3.12Ghz

Memory: 6Gb Corsair 1600Mhz

Graphics: eVGA, GForce 295GTX (latest drivers)

PSU: 1.5kW

Resolution: 2560x1600 (yes, I've tried reducing the resolution - no deal).

Was just wondering if anyone else had similar problems, any help would be great!

If your hard drive is near full that could happen.  Also if another program is not shutting down/corrupted it could have affected windows.

First thing is see how much space is on your HD.  Reinstall the game and try again.  I'm not sure on Win 7 but check your page file size as well--sometimes adjusting it can help.

You could be reaching the Ram Wall of 2GM.

Pull up your task manager and check how much ram your game is using (just the game, nothing else)

If it ramps up to 2 GB, then it will crash every time.  It is a hard coded limit to the game.

But there is hope...

Sins Optimization Project! :waaaa:

This mod will reduce a vast amount of the games textures, effects and (soon) meshes so that the game can run smooth with many, many ships on screen.

Let me know if this helps.

I eneded up turning down all the efects to high and slowly bring each one up... I'll let you know which one crashes it. Game play time is great now.
