Fundraiser Night
We had a great fundraiser pasta dinner/raffle for our Young Life group this past Thursday. It wasn't hard to put together at all, and it was easy to run as well. As a leader team, we split up the responsibilities for the fundraiser based on what our skills are. I was in charge of decorating everything, putting together the gifts/prizes into pretty packages, and making sure the dinner ran well.
I know that it sounds like a lot of responsibilities, but I didn't feel like it was at all. I used to help my sister out a lot when she was an event planner. I actually love event planning and decorating. It is so much fun for me. I also love to do it on a budget, because it makes me feel like I'm accomplishing some fantastic goal lol. It's awesome.
I picked up everything I needed from Sam's Club and the Salvation Army, can you believe it. It was the best feeling ever to be that efficient. I got so caught up in decorating and setting up the day of the dinner that I forgot to get ready. I was wearing my Cruel Girl jeans and a t-shirt with my flip flops. Luckily, I had these on me and my awesome husband ran home for me to get me a change of clothes. While I was running the dinner, I had my Kata camera bag slung around my shoulder the whole night and taking pictures of the awesome night we had. We raised some great money for our students.
