I've got 10+ hours of sitting on airplanes and in airports on Saturday, and this is going to make it a lot better. There are a couple of games I've been meaning to get, and now they're all on sale!

Hmmm Is that a code for one product? Can be applied to all the products individually or to the whole order?

<-- Not used to get/use coupon codes

Generally you throw the coupon on your entire order, but I can't say for sure in this case. I'm pretty sure you can apply the coupon and see your new total before submitting the order, so you could pretty easily check :)

Same here, Tried Impulse-Bday, impulse-bday, impulsebday, ImpulseBday and Impulse-Bday. Then the Impulse store told me it was down for maintenance :(

"We should be back: August 21th, 2009 7PM EST."

^The message I get from impulse store :)

I'm having the same issue as louist.  "Impulse-Bday." with the period gets the maintenance message.  Everything else returns an invalid code message.

Sorry about the troubles.  It was a minor glitch and was resolved this morning, so everything should be working ok now.

Let us know if any issues come up.  :)

That is pretty odd.  So for those who have already preordered, wanting to support the developers, we get stiffed on this?

How are you getting stiffed? Since when to coupons for anything ever work on something you've already purchased? And if you really want to support the developers, buying it at full price gives them more support than 15% off. Isn't access to the beta enough?

If you've preordered and have beta access, obviously you've already paid and the coupon can do nothing. If you've preordered but waiting for Beta 3, you can always email [email protected] to cancel your pre-order, and do it again with the coupon code. This only works if it hasn't been processed yet, though.

This maybe good for elemental, unfortunately Steams sale is pretty much stomping the Impulse sale on everything else and all over a fair amount of gaming forums.

I ordered about three days ago.  I don't have access to the beta.  Look at it this way, if I go to a store and put something on lay-away and then there's a sale on that item, I get the sale price.

Why would it be any different?

Nice!  Used the code and got 15% off disciples 3.  Good stuff!

Like I said in another post, I preordered a few days ago and so have no beta access.  Otherwise, I wouldn't be saying anything.

I know most here are Stardock fanboys and all, but this seems inherently unfair.

And yes, I could go through the process of canceling and reordering.  But should I have to, if Stardock is such a great company?

I'm not entirely sure why they'd lock out access to the beta until beta 3 to be honest (full price or 15% off).  That's apparently what they are doing though.  Now, are you being robbed or treated unfairly if they choose to lock you out for another couple weeks?  Probably not.  They set the official terms.  They didn't change them the second you bought the game.  I, too, got elemental with a discount code - but I did so way back in Jan.  Anyway, 2 quick things to keep in mind.  You get the game cheaper than many folks (+ for you).  You have to wait for beta 3 (2-7 weeks off) to play (- for you).  Their terms are their terms. If I tell you I can give you a $100 discount if you buy by X date and you show up a day late, I'm not obligated to give you that discount.  Anyway, the only real reason I can see to deny you access to beta 2 is to encourage you and others to adopt early.  All of this crap said, its a beta... its beta 2 and its only KINDA fun (eg nothing you are going to want to put hours and hours into).  It wouldn't hurt to send an email to sales or support @stardock.com and see if anyone is willing to hook you up though.

Uh, yes you should. How in the world would they know what people want to spend their 15% on? They're just offering it off on everything, and people don't just buy Elemental from the store. Get off the high horse and re-order it if you want the 15% off it, stop complaining over something that's entirely in your power to do as if it isn't.
