Transport question

This is a newbie question, but is there an indicator of how full a transport is with soldiers? I Sometimes forget what I put on which transports, so if there isn't one, maybe they should add that in a patch. :notsure:

One more thing (somewhat related)

Ground combat should be more exciting. I liked how they did it in MOO 1 with the troops on either side blasting each other one by one with sfx. ;)

You can see the number of troops loaded in the transport by looking at the ship details panel at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks Ray, I finally see it now, at the very bottom of the screen. That's easy to miss when you first start playing the game. ;) I was looking at the popup screen when I double clicked my transport. Thanks again.

My one thought about ground combat was it's over too quick. But on huge invasions it takes a few seconds, maybe that's the point.

Moo1 had them blasting? Can't remember... I know Moo2 did... [deletes mention of moo3 ground combat]

I agree there needs to be some more element of suspense in ground battles (Me tending toward the excitement of military conquest)

About the Moo1 "blasting"...well maybe that's not the right word for it, but they were being destroyed one at a time (each unit of soldiers) :)

End of quote

The suspense seems quite good with GalCiv. You have an onimous "x vs y" thingy at the top that keeps changing until you hit the spacebar. In this, a battle can flip from being victorius or being a defeat - a perfect suspense especially when it becomes a close call down to 1 infantry.

Putting in extra suspence doesn't really help - I'd provide an example, but that would cause a flamewar between two well-known games.

I guess I just want to see the destruction I cause in as graphical a way as possible LOL But seriously you're right there is suspense already and too much of a thing is not necessarily a good thing. But you put all that effort into invading a planet and boom, it's over with one hit of the spacebar...that's cool I guess, but my dark side demands that I see the enemy aliens die in agonizing slow motion. LOL

With moo2 you could just hit the spacebar and it would skip the battle animation, which is what I did most of the time. The way I see it, there is no point in showing a bunch of guys fighting it out when it really has no impact on the game, it just slows down the game.

Well, I've played some more and now I realize that I was wrong about the ground combat. I was invading low pop planets, and that's why it seemed to be over so quick that I didn't see the troops there. Now I think that this game rocks. :D :SURPRISED:
