Proclivity, eh???  Now that's not another word for flatulence, is it? :-"

Think I'm gonna have to take a trip down the library and study up a bit.  You see, I'm not sure if aging has anything to do with increased flatulence or not.  I' mean, I've got an awful lot of it, and I'm thinking there might be a book down there that'd tell me why... and explain proclivity.

:-" :D

Um, no, I've never bothered to sit and watch it.... but I don't need to in order to liken the two shows.

Re-read this 50 times until you realize how stupid it sounds.

The only thing similar between Futurama and South Park is that they're cartoons.

Proclivity = A natural tendency to behave in a particular way.

Actually they do share a number of characteristics. For example, both are satirical in nature. Both poke fun at politics, celebrities, and pop culture. They also both are aimed at a mature audience, which is non-traditional in animated cartoons. Finally both shows have been targeted by the extremes of both sides of the political spectrum (conservatism vs liberalism) as being worthy of censorship, discreditably and outright hostility.

Not really, no. How is the Futurama episode when they go back in time and do cooky stuff to try and preserve time in any way satirical? How does it poke fun at politics when it doesn't have any in the show? I can maybe think of a mere handful of episodes where  there was "some" politics, but not anywhere near a central theme of the episode. How does it poke up at celebrities when it basically has none? They had some homage episodes to Star Trek.. yay? What pop culture does it make fun of?

Seriously, you guys have to at least watch the shows before you try to talk about them.

Actually I've seen every episode (In order!) except the new ones.

Here are a few examples:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_in_Futurama

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_guest_stars_on_Futurama (look at the "Himself's")

http://www.gotfuturama.com/Information/ListsReferences/heads.dhtml

I can keep going if you'd like?

EDIT: Oh I forgot to point out the big one (the link helps establish two thoughts)- Here's the First paragraph from that Futurama Wiki entry:

The animated science fiction show Futurama presents a satirical look at politics and current affairs in a number of its episodes. Series creator Matt Groening intended from the outset that Futurama would lampoon not only the conventions of science fiction, but elements of present-day life.[1][2]

EDIT 2: I'm not trying to be rude or obnoxious to you or anything.... Just trying to establish my point of view in the argument.

One of my favorite characters in futurama (right after Bender) is Richard Nixon's head!

NoIi don't!   A couple of previews were more than ample for me to formulate the opinion that Futurama and the like is total crap

And i don't need to.....

... to know that I can liken these animated shows.   To draw comparisons between show is redundant as far as I'm concerned... because they're ALL juvenile and a complete waste of air time.
