Multiplayer game running too fast

A friend and I were playing together online and we saved a map and exited.  Some other day a different friend and I were having trouble with the mesh files and so we both uninstalled and reinstalled the game and were able to play online.  Soon later my other friend had the same trouble and had to reinstall and then we were able to continue our game.

After a while of playing we noticed that everything was sped up big time.  We kept losing our ships because it was going so fast that we couldn't retreat in time or anything.  We kept trying to hit the "-" key to slow things down, but nothing happened.  So we started a new game and the same thing happened even though the game settings were set on normal for everything.

We tried a game with everything set on slow, but the same thing happened.  Tried binding the keys to slow the game speed down differently and then using that, but it wouldn't work.  I found some other posts with the same problem, but none give any solutions or suggestions.

The speed issue sounds like a bug of some sort.  This is the first I've heard of it, I think.

The mesh problem isn't hard to fix.  Read the last post in this thread for instructions on how to fix it in case you or your friends ever have that problem again:

Oh, we fixed the mesh problem fine; we're just having problems with the game running too fast.  We can't play it runs so quickly.  When we started a new game and I clicked to build 2 scouts, they were built in less than 4 seconds!!!  It's unplayable at that speed because too much happens.

That is a weird problem.  Maybe you should email [email protected].  (I think that's the address.)

Alright thanks.  I will probably try it once again and then if that still happens then go ahead and e-mail.

Has anyone figured this out or know a solution to this problem?  I e-mailed the technical support and I got an e-mail confirming that they would e-mail me back soon, but I haven't heard anything since then.  I have tried reinstalling the game since then to try that and it still runs too fast.  Also, I tried the regular sins (instead of trinity) and it does the same thing!  =/

Having the same issue with my brother, so far can't figure out how to fix it.

I've heard from other player that this is caused if you use Alloy to host your games instead of proper port forwarding. Still, unless you've port forwarded before it is probably more of a pain to fix it than it is worth.

If you're playing the game with people you know, you might want to try doing a direct connecting via the LAN multiplayer menu instead of ICO, that might not have that problem either.

It doesn't sound like an ICO problem, take a look at the mesh files and find out if there's anything in there that could effect game speed.  It's possible something got messed up during that process that should normally be left well alone.  (THIS IS MY OPINION GOA PLEASE DONT YELL AT ME FOR BEING A FOOL SINCE I'VE NEVER ACTUALLY LOOKED AT THOSE FILES!!!!!)
