Perfect Timing

Sometimes you win.

I am hauling an over-sized load, a fire truck, to the port in Baltimore. As PA has a weekend curfew that prohibits over-sized loads from moving between noon on Saturday and sunrise on Monday I pulled into the truck stop just East of Wheeling, WV around 2:00 PM on Saturday.

As there is a tavern across the street I have taken my meals there as well as enjoyed a few adult beverages. It's a decent enough place and the food there is pretty good.

When I walked across to there this afternoon I could feel rain in the air and I figured I might get wet walking back to my truck. I spent some time there eating some good food and drinking more than a couple of beers before walking back to my truck.

Within 30 seconds of getting back into my truck the rain started. How is that for timing? It is now raining to beat the band. Had I stayed for one more beer I would have gotten wet walking back to my truck.

Perfect timing.

My lawn needs rain!  If I provide the adult beverages, can you swing by my house after you drop off the firetruck? ;)

No charge for the brews!

I've left behind the rain and now it's just been extreme heat and humidity. Yesterday was really brutal down in TN.

It has been brutal all over the east coast.  It dropped into the 90s here this week and it felt almost like spring!

I know what you mean. I am currently back in WI and today is much cooler and less humid than it has been. It feels very nice for a change. Now if we could do something about these damn black flies (they bite) it would be perfect.
