Desktopx ideas

I'm new at skinning, and i found I have enough ability to make some desktop objects. The problem is I have a hard time coming up with good ideas that have either been done really well or overdone.

So I come to this forlorn discussion board to ask for people to suggest desktopx objects that haven't been made or need to be redone for anybody to make.

I think desktopx needs more variety. Mostly in the library you see many of the same objects with different looks. It is time for new and different objects to spice up our desktops.

I'm sure there's something I need, but can't think of it for the life of me.................

I've been looking for a TV guide script (preferably for Australian TV stations... ) for a while now. I'd really find it useful. I'd do it myself, except that I have no idea how to go about doing it.

a lot of people use eBay. what about some kind of bid notifyer object that lets you know when you've been outbidded.

Your clock objects are very nice, Travis, and I think that if you applied those talents to other kinds of objects (such as system status meters, calenders, etcetera), you could get permission from some of the wonderful designers here at WinCustomize to allow you to make some matching skins to theirs.

Just a suggestion

thank you old sapphire.

might do that if I have the time. There already are a lot of calenders made after themes. and I have little use for system stats, but I know some people like them. What I was thinking about doing was creating one object that had all of them in it (clock, calender, and systemstats). I know this has already been done, but I have yet to find one that I would use.

Alright to the ebay object: I don't know xml so I couldn't do it, but I am sure there are people who can and if they would make the scipt I would put it together.

Mediacenter: it can be done and I thought about doing it, but I haven't had the time.

Travis, how about an object that give you all the WC and SD programs in a neat little DX package? Something other than a docklet.

Maybe an object that would also have a configurable list of favorite objects that you can switch on and off, without having to open up DX itself and list every detail, but only the objects themselves. Since DX2 no longer has the right click capability, this maybe could be kind of handy.
