Just STOP already!!!

Oh! MY! EXCLAMMATION!!!

Just STOP already.

To what am I referring?!  The news item that I see (via Yahoo!) that notes that the Duggars, he and she of the coupling that apparently never stops coupling, are tossing around the idea of going for child number 20.

:|

As my co-worker and I discussed, they know what causes that outcome and yet they repeatedly go back and do it again?!  Hey, I'm as interested in that particular exercise as the next human male, but I also know how to prevent the ultimate outcome of the act and further understand that regardless of the pleasure I might get out of having a youngster around to enjoy, eventually my offspring *do* become a bit of a drain upon society.  No matter how much wealth I might generate for me and my loved ones to live on, unless I'm sitting on say George Steinbrenner's family wealth, it's not enough to be splashin' my genetic material enough to create 20 little mouths to fill.

Just stop it.

If you are one of the people that are giving these frequent breeders a TV audience, stop.  If you are cheering for them to keep popping out kids one after the other, stop.  If you think that they are entitled to do what they want whenever they want because they may or may not have the funds to take care of themselves, I don't care.  I care that eventually they personally will be going well above and beyond any positive impact policies like China's one child per family might have in helping to keep from over-populating the planet and using up the precious resources (and adding to so-called Climate change, etc.)

After 19, I am sure they know where babies come from.  They just took the dictate of "be fruitful and multiply" to heart and are doing so.  Considering the reproduction rate of native (as in non immigrant) Americans is below sustainability levels, someone has to pick up the slack.

I don't care what they do, but society should not reward it either. They better well damn be able to support their "endeavor", without taxpayer assistance. I'm reasonably sure those kids are not receiving the individual attention they will need to become well adjusted adults.
