Has Anyone Else Updated SKS Professional to 4.30a.034?

If so do things seem a little weird when you first create a new UIS2 skin to work on? Like missing StartMenuButton image, Pre-set fonts, including the Fonts for classic widgets. Missing default toolbar icon images and animation avis. Just a few things I noticed. Usually I jump right on the updates for SKS, I think I'm rolling back for now, which is too bad because there are finally default Minimized Caption Window images and settings. I guess I'll try to export that as a widget, then do the roll-back so I can still have those images

I hadn't started a new skin with that version, but I had a similar problem. I've been trying to finish the animations in my first skin, and the update came in the middle of it. I had the animations already included in my skin, even though I'm not completely happy with them yet, but when I opened the skin in SS after the update, they were gone! Fortunately, I still had the files separately, so no real harm done, but I had a sick feeling for a few seconds. Anyway, I too rolled back for now.

Well I got it rolled-back after the third attempt Somehow my archived version 4.30.033 got confuggled and was still show 4.30a.034 was installed and boy was it messed up. Uninstalled SKS completely and then restored an archive for 4.30.032, which showed that 4.30.033 as the installed version, other than that everything back to normal and now I've got default Minimized Caption Images as well

The other thing I noticed in 4.30a.034 was more extensive use of tgas.....which is a good thing

Generally I don't update when I'm working on a skin, so I'm still on 4.30.028

Thanks for the heads up, Essencay. I'll be sure and wait before I update.

A new version 4.30a.035 has been released. It fixes all the image and avi issues, as far as I can tell, but the fonts are still preset

I copied this directly from the code of a new skin.

[Font0]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8,,,0,0 )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11
DrawingStyle=0
FontAngle=0
ShadowOffset=1

[Font1]
Name=Imported ( Franklin Gothic Medium, 14,,continuous,9126409,2 )
FontName=Franklin Gothic Medium
FontHeight=-19
DrawingStyle=4
ShadowR=9
ShadowG=66
ShadowB=139
ShadowOffset=2

[Font2]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8, Bold,,0,0 )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11
FontWeight=700
DrawingStyle=0

[SystemFonts]
SystemCaption=0
SystemSmallCaption=1
SystemMenu=2
SystemStatus=3
SystemMessage=4
SystemIcon=5

[SystemFont0]
Name=Imported ( Trebuchet MS, 10, bold )
FontName=Trebuchet MS
FontHeight=-13
FontWeight=700

[SystemFont1]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8, bold )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11
FontWeight=700

[SystemFont2]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8 )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11

[SystemFont3]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8 )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11

[SystemFont4]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8 )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11

[SystemFont5]
Name=Imported ( Tahoma, 8 )
FontName=Tahoma
FontHeight=-11

[Fonts]
FontName=Trebuchet MS
FontHeight=-13
FontWeight=700

Normally none of the fonts are preset or are defaulted to arial - fontheight 14.

Stay Tuned....

The best that I can tell from poking around and comparing to a previous version is that the Luna1.uis and Luna2.uis are the problem. I think that they were edited to include the new images and some other settings were inadvertently changed as well

I updated to 4.30a.035 and still don't have AVI animations or toolbars in the default skin template. Had to rrrrrollll it back to 4.30.033 yet again.

I uninstalled 4.30.033, deleted the backup of it and cleared SD's cache then installed 4.30a.035. Everything seems to work now. Funny the hoops one has to leap through at times. Go figure.

Okay I've got this thing all figured out

First, just like empty man said, you have to uninstall your previous version of SKS, then install 4.30a.035. SKS..035 contains a lot of default new luna images

Second, when you first open up a new UIS2 skin, it doesn't look right, compared to previous versions, that's because it's an actual port of the msstyles default blue luna skin with normal text....that's where the new graphics come from and that's why there are so many presets already in place. Problem is, like any port, it still needs to be tweaked and that's why it don't look right. It shouldn't matter for creating skins or editing them.

Third, after poking around enough I figured out that all I had to do was to edit the luna2.uis and XPStuff.xp files to fix the errors from the port. So if you like to start with a clean slate...no margins, fonts, colors or other attributes set you can

....and now I am happy with this update

Making a skin right now....no issues If anyone wants the edited luna2.uis and XPStuff.xp files let me know here and I'll mail'em out (5KB zip). They'll only work with version 4.30a.035, not with any previous version because of the massive image changes.

Thanks Essencay, I still can't get the menus to skin though, it's driving me crazy. Everything else works fine, but any new skin I make just has classic menus, they show up fine in the preview panel and anything I made proir to today, or downloaded has menus skinned... I better just move on to a different before I freak

Chris...you've got something else going on...not sure....I opened up a new skin (UIS2) and did a quickie graphic on both the pulldown menu and the menu in the more programs and both worked fine. When you updated to 4.30a.035 did you uninstall the previous version of SKS first? Also when it asks if you want to delete everything, say yes, it won't affect any existing WB's in your WB folder, it just resets all the defaults.

I didn't uninstall before installing the new one, I'll try that and post back in a few.

That didn't work either!! I completely removed SS and still no new skin (including the default) has the menus skinned. I'm gonna un/reinstall windowblinds just for the heck of it and see if that helps.

It didn't help. > Uninstalled, deleted the folder and still no change.

I think it's time to mail Stardock support for help, specially if uninstalling didn't fix it.

Me again I've now updated from 4.30a.035 to 4.30b.036 with no issues and my edited luna2.uis and XPStuff.xp files still work fine

I emailed stardock, still having the menu issue. It showed one time when I right-clicked a zip file but that's it. I think I'm gonna try completely removing ODNT and then re-installing. It's about the only thing left to do.
