Logon Studio Help Please

Alright guys - I've done everything I could think of, searched the FAQ's, searched all the threads here, and still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. (And when one of you tells me the simple thing that I'm overlooking, feel free to call me an idiot).
I can't get logon studio to work - at all. The only skins it will let me use are the initial default skins that come with it when I download it. Nothing else will load, nothing will import - I can't get it to let me use anything other than the 3 default skins, and it's driving me nuts.
A very simple walkthrough for a complete moron (like myself) would be appreciated, if anyone has the time/inclination to do so...

This is a common problem with LogonStudio...

First thing to remember is LOAD is for logonxp files. IMPORT is for logonui.exe files.

Look in the LogonStudio directory, and see if there are any folders with the names of any logons you tried to load. If yes, open them, and you'll probably find the real logonxp file inside........ double-click it and should load.

If that doesn't work, post a link to a logon you're having trouble with, so I can check it out.

I have seen a problem recently where nothing other than installing the logons manually would work...
