User Name positioning in the User Pane

Hi,

Having some problems with getting the USer Name where I want it to be in the User Pane.
WB seems to be ignoring the content margins and text alignment settings.

Does anybody know how to get the user name to appear exactly where they want it to go?

Thanx in advance

I don't think that's possible...remember to check the boards before asking

Thanks Pixel Pirate!

Kinda annoys me that I can't do what should be a simple thing. I'm finding a few things in SS that don't behave properly and its getting in the way of what could be a really good piece of software.

This sort of thing forces all skins to conform to a particular layout, which surely limits how original a skin can be. I hope they fix it soon, this and transparency in Programs menus.

cheers

I think we sometimes forget that while we are forced to work within the constraints of SkS, Adam is forced to work within the constraints of the OS when developing SkS.  We all might do well to remember, as frustrating as SkS can be at times, the alternative is NotePad.

SS is a really good piece of software, even though we sometimes curse at it when using it. Sure there are things I and we would love to be able to do in SS, but as Koasati says it's not SS's fault but limitations in the OS that makes it so. (If I understand correctly).

Its tricky but if you want to move it right, I think you use the left content margin or the right content margin of the user pic. I haven't found a setting that will allow you to move it vertically. Nothing seems to work there. So, I add a line of magic pink above my User Pane to adjust the User name vertically. With windowblinds you have to come up with creative design ideas to overcome the things that don't work right. ("There be quite a few of 'em, Bob")

To set the User Text exactly where you want it you have to use the Minimum X value for text attribute. This will shift the text to the right by the number of pixels you enter. You have no control going in the other direction
