png

i noticed that i was getting those little pink rings around the corners of my window frames because I had curved them. I read that if you save them as .png files, this would not show up in skinstudio. I created my image in photoshop on a transparent background and saved it as a .png file. When I open it in skinstudio, the corners that are supposed to be transparent are black. If i click the transparent and translucent boxes in skinstudio, the corners disappear, but the pink rings come back...what am I doing wrong?

You can't use PNGs on the window frames because they don't support translucency. Basically, anything that is transparent against the desktop, like window frames or the start menu, has to use 'magic pink' style BMP transparency.

Also.... can't use anti-aliasing on images that use magic pink.

so the only way that i can get the pink off of the borders is to go back and change each pixel to magic pink?

That or depending on your design, change the pixels to shades of the border color. This is hard for me to explain. The best thing to do is open a skin that has a similar style frame, and study what that author did.
