Help with Skin Creation please

I am learning how to make my first skin by editing someone elses and I can't figure out why the skin shows the left half of my image on my start menu but it doesn't show the right half nor the bottom section where it says "All Programs".

I've tried to compare both side strings and I can't figure out why one side shows ant not the other >< Any help is greatly appreciated!

Do you have Transluncency checked on the images that don't show? All we can do is guess at this point, but this is as good a place to start as any I reckon.  Are you using bmp images?

Yes, using BMP images at 24 bit, I tried 32 bit and they looked all weird and pink in SkinStudio. Nope, transparency isnt checked. I checked them and applied just to make sure and nada Dunno what else to do here. I wish there was some basic n00b documentation that we could look at to learn what every command string means.

HAve you cheked out Aleksyander's WB tutorial? LINK It's not up to date, but covers
the basics pretty well. I'm still trying to think of a reason you're having this
problem.........

You might try tools>correct skin errors. It might fix any incorrect attributes.

You might also try removing any "trans" attribute in the section.

You might also ask if you could send the skin to a fellow skinner to take a look at. Having the skin right in front of you saves a lot of guess work
