Acronis True Image 2011 is incompatible with Windowblinds

Just a heads up, Acronis recently released an updated version of Trueimage, Trueimage 2011. With this release they totally overhauled the GUI, and in the process made it incompatible with Windowblinds.

Running True Image 2011 with Windowblinds enabled results in a hideously sluggish UI and sliders which do not move correctly, menus that don't open etc etc. The only way to fix it is to totally exclude it.

Just a heads up for anyone who might be using this program

Thank you for reporting this.

We will investigate it and see about providing a fix in the next WindowBlinds update.

Was the same with 2009 and 2010. DI has been on my per app list forever.

Neil... you might also wish to look at Directory Opus' non-skinnability.

I guess the DI one is depending on the skin.

Dopus lets you control most of the appearance items within the window. The scroll bars skin and the main window frame but the rest is up to you. I usually spend about 10-20 minutes changing Dopus settings to match a new skin,

I think you'd have to get with GPSoftware to make it skinnable because it requires removing some of the programs functionality.

Yep, perhaps Dopus could do what Powerdesk did....adopt SD's Directskin for handling appearance [skinning]...;)

True Image 2010 skins fine for me too, just not 2011. As for Directory Opus, that works fine with Windowblinds as far as I can see, make sure to turn Windowblinds compatibility mode on in Opus though.

Which operating system are you using?

I am not encountering any slowness on Windows  7 with True Image 2011 home.

Windows 7 64 Bit - Windowblinds 7.1 (build 273 - Windows 7 Edition) and Stardock's Encounter Skin.

It's not always obvious that Windowblinds is causing the problem, but try this for example. Go to Disk and partition backup on the True Image home screen, then click on "Disk backup options" and choose the "performance" tab. Now try moving the performance sliders, they won't move easily when Windowblinds is skinning the app but exclude it and they move just fine.

According to Tinbin it doesn't happen on all skins, but it definitely does on Encounter. I can make a screencast of this if necessary, just let me know.

This picture shows an example of some of the kinds of weirdness I've encountered, non skinned on the left, skinned on the right, as you can see this is totally unusable:-

What version of WindowBlinds are you using? (post the information from the WB about box)

As far as I am aware the issues with True Image 2011 were resolved some time ago.

There is actually a newer beta release on Impulse which is certainly worth trying.
