Strange AI tech trading

In my current game (on painful difficulty - that's an understatement), both the Torians and the Alexians have refused 100BC for either cold fusion or propulsion, but I've managed to extact 100BC for 5 months when I've offered both techs together.

Any ideas why they did this?

Do I understand what you're trying to say: they will buy the techs for 100x5 and NOT for just 100bc? If so:

Yes you are not playing with the updated version of the game- that is a classic sign (the 5 turn thing) of a bug that was in the game awhile ago. Update to 1.02.0xx whatever it is now.

If your problem is something else, let me know.

I'm using 1.02.041. (upgraded to 1.02.042 a few minutes ago - I'll see if this still works)

To make things a bit clearer:

Me - Do you want Propulsion Tech for 100BC
Them - Nope.

Me - Alright, how about Cold Fusion for 100BC
Them - I don't want that crap.

Me - Would Propulsion Tech and Cold Fusion at 100BC/month for the next 5 months interest you?
Them - Yeah Yeah Yeah!

hm.... sounds like the way they add what you're offering isn't simply additive... or, and I hate to say it, the bugs in diplmacy trade have somehow remained in the game.

Not buying cold fuson is a little odd- I've always had good luck with that tech getting me lots of cash.

When I have time for a game this weekend I'll keep an eye out for anything odd.
